This includes your mood, what dissociation is, and how your childhood could play a role in how you handle traumatic events. However, it also includes the idea of posttraumatic growth, and how you can be resilient in the face of a traumatic event. Includes a guided meditation at the end to integrate your learning.
Module 3: Coping skills for traumatic stress.
There are healthy ways to cope with stress and unhealthy ways; this module discusses the difference and introduces some tools to handle traumatic stress more healthfully. This provides information about the brain and how we can change our thoughts, physical reactions, and emotional responses to traumatic stress. It also provides some tips for people who are in relationships with a person who has posttraumatic stress disorder and how you can improve your relationships with your loved ones by coping better. The guided meditation at the end augments your learning and understanding at a subconscious level.
Module 4: Therapeutic options and creating your path to recovery.
In this final video module, you have the opportunity to review what you've learned, explore what feels right for you at this point in time, and explain some of your options going forward so you can heal from traumatic stress. It's so important to acknowledge all the courage and strength that you used as you went through this process, and to recognize that there's no one way to heal from trauma. This covers some of the main trauma treatments available – although there are so many to choose from – and helps you decide what your healing path will look like. At the end, the guided meditation helps you feel into what your path to healing will look like going forward.
